Attack to a Muslim girl in London subway

At 8pm this week ,I went into the subway ,Wiktorya line. A Muslim girl with hijab, was sitting a little far from me. I looked at her and she smiled.She was just about 18.
I searched for my headphone in my pocket as usual,then I heard a 30 years old man shouting and using dirty language, speaking to the girl. He said you are a terrorist and the cause of killing people in France, etc.
Without thinking about what I am doing ,I went toward the man who wanted to attack the girl and I pushed him back.
The man was shocked with my reaction and told me "you are supporting terrorists" and continued speaking dirty language.
I sat next to the girl who was crying. I asked her name. "my name is Yara." she said.
I tried to ask some questions to distract her from the man.
I accompanied the girl upto her station lest no one will hurt her.
When she was saying goodbye, told me " you are brave and very kind." But it's not true. I am not a hero but I am a human and I am happy for helping sb as much as I can.
I wonder why so many people in the station did nothing and were quiet.
People like Yara should not hurt because of their skin color,the way they wear clothes or their religious believes.
In my opinion Yara is a hero and she is braver than me,Yara and people like her inspring me to persevere my believes. we live in a society whit different cultures so we should respect each others' believes because we can be more powerful when we are united.
