❥ Event of Ghadir Khumm ❥

 

➧Date

 

** The date of this event was the 18th of Dhu'l-Hijjah of the year 10 AH (10 March 632 CE).

 

➧ Location

 

** After completing his last pilgrimage (Hajjatul-Wada'), Prophet [s] was leaving Makkah toward Madinah, where he and the crowd of people reached a place called Ghadir Khumm (which is close to today's al-Juhfah). It was a place where people from different provinces used to greet each other before taking different routes for their homes.

 

➧ Revelation of Qur'anic Verse 5:67 

 

** In this place, the following verse of the Qur'an was revealed:

 

* "O Apostle! Deliver what has been sent down to you from your Lord; and if you don't do it, you have not delivered His message (at all); and Allah will protect you from the people..." (Qur'an 5:67)

 

* The last sentence in the above verse indicates that the Prophet [s] was mindful of the reaction of his people in delivering that message but Allah informs him not to worry, for He will protect His Messenger from people.

➧ Some traditions of Imam Ali (pbuh):

 

* Be not being ashamed of granting a scanty thing because, verily, giving nothing is less than that.

 

* The best deeds are the one that you make your despotic soul do that which it dislikes (to do).

 

* A caller with no action is like a bow without a cord.

⇘⇘ Prophet Muhammad (S.A.A) stated among 120 thousands of men:

 

* Know that the enemies of the Imams are nothing but ignorant, who have been led astray from the Direct Path; they are the Demons’ allies, who bring nothing to people but bothering, insignificant and useless things.

*Know that God, in His Book, has expressed about the friends of the Imam, thus: (O Prophet) you find not a people believing in God, and the Last Day, yet showing love for those who oppose God, and His Messenger–even if they are their own fathers, sons, their brothers or anyone from their family connection.

* With such [people], God has engraved faith on their hearts. Assisted them with the spirit of His Own, and He will admit them into the gardens where streams flow by their trees, to live in [forever]. God will be pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are the lovers of God. Ah! Victorious are the lovers of God!

* Imam Reza (PBUH) said:

 

➭ The example of believers on the Day of GHADIR is as the example of Angles on the Day that mighty Allah order them to prostrate to Adam and they accepted. And the example of unbelievers on the Day of GHADIR is as the example of Satan on the Day that mighty Allah order the to prostrate to Adam, and he refused.
